Parenthetical is a love letter to the millennial woman who’s stuck in her Pinterest feed.

You’ve got the pristine weekly planner (untouched since February). You’ve started The Artist’s Way at least three times. You’ve got 32 books in a stack on your floor and you just added six more to your Libby holds.

You’ve tried the morning routines, the nightly resets, and the capsule wardrobes because that’s what the internet said will help you figure out who you are (again). But no matter what Tiktok trend or influencer affiliate discount you try, nothing sticks.

Parenthetical is for that version of you. The one who’s trying to move forward. Trying to live a life that actually feels (not just looks) good, but who keep getting stuck between an abandoned planner and an unfinished creative project (been there).

We’re all about romanticizing your everyday life over on this side of the internet. Living with joy, whimsy, color, and creativity—unapologetically. Reading books you love, not the ones you think you’re supposed to. Curating a personal style that feels like you, not what an influencer told you to buy. Doing less, but doing it beautifully (read: no optimization, no hustle, no five-year plans in sight).

Around here, joyful living isn’t frivolous. Leisure isn’t something you have to earn. And being excited that your Friday plans got cancelled so you can curl up on the couch with wine and a good book (or bad television) is celebrated.

  • Access to actionable frameworks designed to help you get unstuck and take action on those big dreams of yours (even when you only have a small amount of time to commit each week).

  • access to monthly challenges as a reminder that the work-in-progress phase should still be fun.

  • Exclusive access to the group chat so you never have to feel like you’re doing this work alone (because you’re not!)

✨ Founding Subscription ✨

If you want that something extra (or because you just really love me), the founding subscription will get you:

  • Exclusive access to the Joy Mail Club, a monthly mail club for people who want joy to reach them offline. Delivered straight to your mailbox via USPS carrier pigeon.

About the Author

I’m Lizzie Campbell—writer, reader, reformed girlboss, and a pleasure to have in class. By trade I’m a graphic designer, but I’ve been a writer at heart since I first learned how to hold a pencil.

In 2013, I was a burnt-out college freshman with undiagnosed ADHD and a journalism major I picked at random because Rory Gilmore made it sound cool. I started a blog one night on a whim, sitting on the floor of my dorm room eating leftover pizza and watching Doctor Who.

That blog turned into a side-job that helped pay for college classes and rent, then my first and second full-time jobs, then eventually into my own creative studio and business. You can read the full story here.

I’ve been an observer, curator, and archivist of the world around me for as long as I can remember. I’m the recommender of the friend group, the one who’s always excited to tell you about a book you have to read or my new favorite lipstick that lasts all day. I treat gift-giving like an Olympic sport, and I desperately want to share my new perfume with you.

I want this space to feel like grabbing coffee with your bestie—chatty, friendly, fun, and fulfilling.
