I picked up Spoiled Milk on Independent Bookstore Day and I’m saving it for fall, but this has me excited! I’m already envisioning the crisp air and spooky vibes!
I've had kind of a sporadic reading year too so far. Really my only five star reads have been Tom Lake and The Compound. I did really enjoy reading Yesteryear and Strangers too, also just the buzz around both of them. Ready to get into fall, seems to be my best reading season.
Just put Best Offer Wins on hold! Excited to read it.
I’ve been recommending Best Offer Wins to everyone and their mother! I’m so glad you gave it a shout-out. And thank you for the similar recommendations. I’m definitely looking for another book that gives me that “I can’t put this down” feeling.
Completely agree on Best Offer Wins! One of my favorite thrillers of 2025. I felt the same way about Yesteryear - I read it in March and it's been interesting to see how the response has shifted as more people read it. It does feel like one of those situations where the discourse is heavily affecting people's views on it. Makes me glad I read it before general opinion could influence my feelings on it!
Agreed! I was a little shocked with all the backlash. Some people made some fair points with regards to pacing, etc. But overall, most of it felt like shallow criticism on "bad" characters... like, yeah, you're not supposed to like Natalie! She's horrible! That doesn't mean the story itself is bad!
Currently reading Spellstruck because of your rec and loving it so far! Its SO cute!
Ah yay I'm so glad you like it! I already want to re-read it, it's so warm and fuzzy.

I hope you love it! I definitely want to read Tom Lake and The Compound soon too, I've heard such good things about both.
I loved Ready or Not so much more than I expected! I've read all of her books now. Dreamy.
I just really clicked with her writing and narration style. Super excited to dive into her newest one!
Best offer wins was sooo good!
SO fun, if "fun" is the right word haha
Eeeeps, new names for my TBR!! Thank you thank you <3

I can't wait to read Spellstruck! I love her regency romance series.
I really need to check that out too! I'm not as into the regency era stuff in general, but I loved her writing so I'm sure I'd enjoy it.
Loved Ready or Not and Yesteryear this year as well! Currently listening to This Story Might Save Your Life and it makes a DELIGHTFUL audiobook!
Ahhh I've had that on my shelf for ages, I need to read it finally!
The cover of Spoiled Milk is so well done. That one and Grey Dog are now on my list!
You'd Look Better As a Ghost was fun read for me this year! Otherwise I felt like this year has been mostly a miss reading wise...
Ooh, I'm gonna have to check that out!
